I Messed Up - Poem by Jay LeBron

I wake up in the night from a horrible dream
I look around the room and nothings quite what it seems
Where did you go? You used to be here right by my side
You used to be the motivational force in my life

Anything I needed surely you'd be down to ride
But now I'm lost, and I have nowhere to hide
You where the one who always used to hold me down
Treated me like a king, baby you gave me my crown

God knows I'd give anything to have you back
I made a big mistake, now I gotta live with that
I guess I thought that you would never leave
And now I'm missing you so bad I can't even sleep

Cause I don't know why I did what I did
I should have never let her get close to my lips
Shoulda listened when you said don't go to that party
You wanted me to go with you to watch that new movie

I was a fool when I told you that I need my own space
I told you I wouldn't drink, I lied right to your face
Tried to lie and tell you it wasn't me that she was kissin'
But you heard from a lil bird who watched from a distance

Said I'm sorry for drinking, you said to bad you shoulda listned
Told you she came on to me, you said I put myself in that position
Now here I am trying to get your love back
I'll do anything you want baby and thats a fact

I can keep on begging but it just wont be enough
Truth of the matter is I gave away my love
And now I gotta live with the consequence
I'm never gonna have you in my arms again
