I Of The Beholder (Limerick) - Poem by Kelly Kurt

How do you go out looking like that?
Dressing just like a disheveled rat
With that scraggly grey beard
Making you look real weird
And you're hopelessly ugly and fat

Your hair style makes you look like you've quit
A skunk tail perched atop a big zit
Then they say; "If you care
Take a look over there
It's called a mirror; look into it."

No wonder we are more on web and less in coffee shop! (Report) Reply

: -) My wardrobe is very old and limited and I give myself haircuts. I'd probably be kicked out of a coffee shop

Enjoyed this interesting poem, I have a small face and with a beard on it I appear a little better in a mirror. (Report) Reply

I enjoy a self deprecating style of humor.

Mirrors are funny things. Sometimes its better to avoid them and go with the feeling. A skunk tail perched atop a big zit presents a dramatic image! Actually, it might be kind of fun to see all of that in a mirror after all. Thanks for entertaining us! :) (Report) Reply

Those are my self descriptive words. I'd show you a current picture of my hairdo and goatee, but why upset your stomach so soon after dinner? : -)

I must admit I will not look into the mirror until I have combed my hair. I found two beautiful ties at Sally Anne today and I can't wait to show them off so I still have some ego regarding my appearance. (one black one glorious butter yellow) regarding your limerick my wife applauds. (Report) Reply

I cannot remember the last time I was self conscious about my looks. (And according to societal norms, I should very well be)

I try looking into a mirror from time to time, but it kinda scares me : -)
