I Run To You - Poem by Kayla Dennison

To the teardrops of spring
And the fire in my veins
To the sky that holds close the moon and sun
I run to you

Through the mist in the grass
The whispers in my ear
The air that I breathe
The legs that carry me forward
I run to you

To the acheing in my heart
To the throbbing in my head
To all the things I've never said
I run to you

To all the quiet moments we've never had
To the few moments you let me see you sad
How my heart beats fonder when I feel you near
I run to you

To those who called us fools
For the love they said didn't exsist
For the person who now understands
That even life is bittersweet
But still sweet
I run to you

To the heart that pounds equally to mine
To the hand that envelopes mine without hesistation
To the will to runaway
To except
To fight
To ask
To care
To understand
That only with love, we can be set free, our wings taking flight.
