I Saw You Again Poem by Stephen Carey

I Saw You Again

Yes, I remember the day we met.
There was no room for you n my mind,
Let alone my heart.
I just let you walk away, I let you go.
I didn't care.

I saw you again.
There must have been something different about that day.
Was it in the air? the lights? what?
For that day i really saw you,
Feelings filling me which I couldn't describe.

My eyes were graced by the sight of you a third time.
Unnoticed by you,
I followed you,
Me so naive and foolish,
Fantasies and dream entering my mind.

The time from then to the next,
So great an filled with sorrow,
Yet I did see you again.
In all your glory, I saw your face.
I saw you again.

I watched you so long,
My face painted like a clown.
I looked at you,
You noticed me,
Then you were gone.

One day there was a party,
We sat alone by the wall,
Me staring at you,
Ypou staring away.
I didn't know what to say.

Whenever I was with you,
I couldn't say a word.
Me standing in the open
Just made me feel absurd.
But my feelings for you
Forced me to open up.
I could talk to you
And others, too.
You were the first,
My love for you will last.

Sitting in the cold,
Crying in the dark,
I'm all alone,
But I looked in my heart,
And what did I see,
I saw you again.
