I Shot My Dog Poem by Randy Johnson

I did something that made me very sad.
I had to shoot my dog because she was mad.
I should've gotten her a rabies shot but I was tight with my money.
I wish I wasn't so cheap because now I feel pretty crummy.
I was excited and very happy on the day that I bought her.
I knew something was wrong when she became afraid of water.
It really hurt but sadly it had to be done.
I felt like I was also shooting myself with the gun.
Tears ran down my cheeks as I watched her die.
I really loved her, that's something I won't deny.
