I Sit Here Drained Again By Despair - Poem by Valerie Jupe!

I sit here drained again by despair
and you disparage that you cannot make me
anyone.
And you feel the fear bleeding through my skin
that I may never accomplish
anything.
You feel this everytime I pass you
in this house.
Or sit watching TV for hours on end.
Or mention stupid, inconsequential projects.
Or my hangovers.

My happiness is for moments, not in the
large scheme, not from a distance,
but only for moments.
