I Stand Alone Poem by Elizabeth Muller

I Stand Alone

Where's your dignity?
Did you lose it when you lost my respect
No, it was long gone before then
Where's your honesty?
DId it leave when communication was cut
A choice of best?
THe worst you could have picked

Don't you dare deceive
But I can claim defeat
I feel so beat
Oh, so beat

A hint of what was there
Killed me to think it true
Something I couldn't bear
Ended up not being with you

Where is your strength?
Did you lose it when you lost your courage?
Probably, you know I'm now a mess
It wasn't me, I know
You did this, you brought this on your own
And when you come crawling, I won't take you back

The silence cries out
My heart stays quiet now
So quiet
Oh, So quiet

A hint of what was there
Killed me to think it true
Something I couldn't bear
Ended up not being with you

And here I stand alone,
so strong on my own
A good time is what I'm going to have
without you
I'm glad, I'm glad, so glad
