I Was Once Free Poem by Amy Louise Kerswell

I Was Once Free

I was once free.
To be happy.
Just to be me.

Now Im not.
Not free.
A prisoner of
my formal self

I was once happy.
I used to luagh
I used to smile.
A long time a go.

Depair rides in.
Keeping its hold on me.
I will never be free.

I was happy once
I used to have fun.
I used to laugh
I used to smile.

That all seems so old
Its all gone now.
Its so long ago
It could be a life
A life time ago
