we don't choose who we fall in love with? it chooses us and we have to live with it whether it's good or bad. (Report) Reply

    My take on the poem
The poem is well-crafted and it awakens emotions in me. But, I respectfully disagree with the people in the comments who state that this is a romantic poem. I read the poem for the first time, and I did not feel the warm, fuzzy feelings of love. Instead, I felt pangs of fear and insecurity. Pablo feels afraid of not being loved back because he was probably hurt in his past. He is threatening her as a defense mechanism. I will only love you as much as you love me. His love for her is not conditional; it is possessive and controlling. (Report) Reply

    Not so unique
it is a love poem no doubt.....

but it seems to me a copy from Donne the master of metaphysical poetry.....

the theme and style Iboth are so typical that I can't believe it to be ranked within 10 out of 500 top poems........

    thanks for sharing.

    if each day,
    each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
    with implacable sweetness,
    if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
    without leaving mine.

    Lovely poem.........
