In A Summer Delirium Poem by james watkin

In A Summer Delirium

Whom it strikes down, markedly seen
To be bearing up well in!
Our hapless youth, pre-disposed with
Excess of brightness of being.

Yard on yard; ward on fenced off ward!
Contagious leapt; high-bounced on.
Or what, splashed out for remedy
But works its aggravation!
