Inhibited - Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Although my heart knows my mind will lie
In my mind, your heart is mine
Secret dreams I make of you
Even though it's known our hearts aren't two

Ending days bring lonely nights
With desperate prayers to hold you tight
In shadowed dreams I'm always calling
Your name out loud as tears keep falling

Trusting in this lie, I made
Now engraved forever in my heart
Gives security that can be believed
Our lives will never part

Ending all my loneliness
By living the world inside my mind
Breaks me down to think of you
Before I start to cry.
