Insensitive Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Insensitive

Chipped away everyday.
Sympathy and empathy to give it.
Emotions to have.
Slipping from an awareness.
Known to once exist.
Until they fade to go unnoticed.
And this to avoid,
In the midst of an epidemic.
Is difficult to keep one's heart,
From a chilling affect.
Unexpected to freeze...
With such an unprecedented impact!
Left to leave on one's mind.
Body.
And on a reality few try,
To disbelieve.
But too many have been made believers!
