Interim Poem by Halana Williams

Interim

Rating: 4.5

I feel as it is a must.
Constant ringing in my ears
your voice
my voice
intermix
and intertwined
as one

We are not so different
You sleep here
And i sleep there.
I eat
so you eat
Nothing to spare.

Everything

means

Nothing

If you start
then i end
When you dream
i awake

I work so hard
to get out
You see me
But i don't know who
you are
We are One in the same
so relatively distant

You come and go
But i am still Here!

I strain, i tire easy
and you
you...
have freedom
to get up.
Speak
Laugh. and
Walk

The music you listen to
clothes you wear

Is that how i am?
is that how you
want to be?

When people ask they see
me!

And they question..

Is that
Why i'm here?

Because i'm one of those
things?
Please remember
Don't disrespect
I did the crime, and suffered
greatly
I became the music
that told me it was ok

I didn't have a guidance
There was no one to lead
Me!

I went which way that
lead to no way

So i am here.
I

AM

Here.

And as i sit Here
i think.

Thoughts came to mind,
Forever
i'll sit here.

But that inspired me to
write

I don't know your face
How you speak
Or the places you go
I know one thinking

Here is not where
you want to be

The influences you have
Compared
to twelve years ago

Have Changed.

We as a people
Changed.

Guidance
Changed

And so has
Opportunities
....
Changed

You didn't have what
i did
you have more
then me
much more...

And i'm thankful for that

So i'm here if you need
me
And it's okay
to believe in something as cliche
as me
All i ask
is for you to listen
and take notice

What you see isn't as what
you get

Look forward
don't go back
Today starts for you.
Let it be apriority
to be the best

In you...
and in life

You only have one...
Don't waste it
in here..

You are potential
fight the
statistic
and go over and beyond
the bar

In everything you do
remember

Time waits for no
one

Stand up
Get out.

And when you do
you will be great in
Everything
you do.

Listen to the
Voice

My voice.

If i knew what i know now
back then,
I could've been...
So much more
So i sit here and i'll only ask
you this once

Will you Listen to the
Voice?
