Irony - Poem by Kimi Regpala

Promises not kept leave your words echoing inside my mind
I guess that, to you, ‘forever’ is only a word!
It’s devastating to know that at one time,
I held everything I wanted in the palm of my hand…
But I lost it, somehow and I still don’t know why!
What’s painfully humiliating?
Knowing that someone else is responsible for that smile upon your beautiful face
…Even more so, that she has been there all along!
And even still … I’d die for your happiness?
…Or die just the same to never love again!
Can you see the tears in my eyes, or feel the pain in my heart?
Do you hear the sorrow in my voice as I realize that you will never be mine?
But … you were never really all mine anyway, right?
And the Irony of it all is that I have always been all of yours!
