Is There Anyone Listening - Poem by Emily Wimetal
Is there anyone listening?
Is there anyone even at home?
Tell me, does anyone miss me?
Or am I already forgotten?
I've been gone so long
Not even a week
Yet when I come home
Of me you don't speak
Like a taboo, my name is silent
Spoken then hushed, eerie quiet
The love of a family, dead and rusted
My body downstairs under a stone
