It's Like That Poem by Wyatt Epple

It's Like That

Life is nothing but soundwaves and hypnotics
Knocking you unconscious and telling you what joy is
Singin' about what you gotta do to make a living
Brainwashin' everyone to never do somethin' different

And we all just scream, 'cause there's nothin' we can do
Well, that's what we tell ourselves and someday it'll be true
Because we tie ourselves down with things we hate to do
With friends who hate our music, and girls who hate our style
With nasty tastin' beer, and we'll just sip it all the while.

See life is like that beer, you just drink to meet the goal,
And when the morning comes, you feel like you ain't got no soul.

So now we're trudging through the trenches, we're lookin' for the end
But what we'll never see is that that end is just a bend
In the road that leads to joy, our journey's never over.
So now we keep on rollin', so much worse because we're sober
And we just sippin' on that beer, and swiggin' that cheap booze
So that we never know our issues, we'd never know we lose.
