It's My Fault - Poem by Peggy Dotson

it's my fault that I let my guard down
it's my fault i never complain about you not being around
it's my fault that things are where they stand
it's my fault that I only have half a man.

it's my fault my kids are attached to you
it's my fault you can't decide who you want
it's my fault you do what you wanna do
and it's my fault you can't give me all your heart.

it's my fault i love you so much
and i want to do what's right
and it's my fault i don't say a thing
about only seeing you late at night

it's my fault for trusting you
and for believing what you say
it's my fault for loving you more and more
each and every day

it's my fault I gave you all my love
and didn't ask for a thing in return
it's my fault that this relationship didn't work out
and i'm the one getting burned

it's my fault I was willing to do whatever it takes
to make you happy and to keep a smile on your face
it's my fault i'm willing to walk away
because you can't decide in your heart if i have a place
