Journey’s End? - Poem by Andrew Shaw

Sunlight falling on a grassy glade
Fine spun hair that tumbles and falls
Tender hands that nurse an injured bird
A smile that fills this aching heart with joy

Water cascading down a babbling brook
Echo the sounds of singing that touches my soul
Scent of sweet flowers enthrals my senses
Emerald green eyes into which I want to dive

Warm breezes set the leaves a rustling
Catching the folds of her swirling skirt
Dancing for the simple joy of living
My weary but now refreshed feet eager to join her

So long a journey has mine been
No peace for me along the way
That now I see this beauteous vision
Could my journey be at last an end?
