Just Somebody Else - Poem by Manny Negron

.Do you ever wonder why you say some things? .
.Words just slip out of your mouth.
.as if you’ve recited them for days.
.Sometimes you say all the right things.
.And sometimes nothing at all.
.Come to think of it.
.More often than not.
.That’s better than what you’re capable of.

.And sometimes I remind myself of what you are.
.you’re by yourself.
.Cause sometimes I forget you’re not something else.
.just somebody else.

.Deep inside you’ll find the truth behind the lies.
.It’s all been placed inside of you.
.without any replies.
.Did you ever find that there was something more? .
((Did you?)) ...Or did you stop to think before...

.And sometimes I remind myself of what you are.
.you’re by yourself.
.Cause sometimes I forget you’re not something else.
.just somebody else.
