"I said goodbye unnoticed, pushed for things in my own games
moving in and out of lifetimes unmentionable by name;
searching for my double, looking for…"
—Bob Dylan, "Love Is Just A Four-Letter Word"

Last night, I saw Izzy, her form, through
the open front door—and she me too, looked
straight at me, hesitated, stood still; neither one
of us spoke, the encounter lasting mere seconds.
I walked away, wanting to go back as the seconds
passed, but continued on my way—still, I felt something
there, something between us—her gaze—as was the case before though two months have passed us by. I can't lie,
can't lie, can't lie—Izzy makes me feel alive. If you are
looking for perfection, near-perfection, for soul, look for her.
I can't explain it, this state; I describe what I see and feel.
