Laughter - Poem by Karnail Singh Heirwale
Laughter
Laughter is my second nature
Demystifies all that is serious
It is the cousin of the imagination
It makes it sequeak and creak
Not an ivory tower
Yet to it doth run
Fain or foul
It knoweth not
For beyond doth it run
It is a response
Of my being
To avert
Transiently
The gaze of the other.
