Let Us Walk - Poem by Jake Wheeldon

let me fall, so you might break it
my body and yours, leaves and dust
let me fall so you might break it
take in the scent of the earths rich musk

let me fall, lover, let me fall
let us bend like young twine
let yourself cast away broken dreams
let me feed your passion with longing lust

let us walk, darling, let us walk
like vaudevillian vagabonds
in the warm spring rain
let us lull around in golden harvest fields
and forget the notions of our pondering brains

let me look, let me look
at your longing gaze
from dusk till rising dawn
so i can dream of you tomorrow

when we're alone
and dreams are born
