Letter To God Poem by Pita Nuba

Letter To God

Rating: 5.0

Dear God who lives in the heavens
I hope none sees this, not even ravens
My heart is heavy, my soul is black
I look around me but can't see a thing, everywhere is dark
Everything I do fails
Nothing holds me from falling, no rails
Life's become tasteless
I'm not faithless

Maybe I've become hasty
You didn't sign with me no treaty
I wake each day feeling new
Imaginations against reality are not things I knew
Last night it was tears
No laughter over the years
It was better on Tuesday
But I've not eaten today and its Thursday

Your word I read daily
Your people I see as family
Hate I do my best to banish
I don't want it only love I relish
But it keeps coming, it gnaws at my heart
I'm angry at the hearth
I'm better than this I know
I should be happy and full of hope

Dear Father, the letter is long
I hope my intentions are not wrong
Bring me answers soon God
Let your angels bring me the rod
That I may once again receive love
And purge my being of lust
This I beseech thee
Forever...

I am glad you shared this. so vivid when we are in a dark place. But only poetic can explain it right and you did.

An experiment on existentialism. Nice attempt.
