Letting Go Poem by Lilibeth Apat

Letting Go

The past haunts me still
After all these years
How can I forget
And start life's next phase

After all has been said and done
When people say, 'forget the past',
A sense of deja vu comes to me
Bringing its own sweet vengeance

We all must let go sometimes
Leave our yesteryears behind
Yet, only when we're able to look back
Can we truly move forward

So I'll get over things one by one
Accept the mistakes that can't be undone
Look towards the promise of sun
'Tis when letting go has begun.
