Life As A Bird - Poem by Ryan Arthur Walker

I’d love to sing
And soar with all its freedoms
Life as a bird would be remarkable
To grace people with my magical lullabies
Or praise them with my triumphant glee
Feathered with family, no person would
Be happier than me

To migrate south
To where all the warm air dances
Would only rejuvenate ones liveliness
To fly through the wisdom stricken trees
Or float along mile wide rivers
Knowing that when I return home
Spring will have blossomed the beauty of my place

I want to sing like a bird
So I no longer have to whistle
Because bird’s song feels bright
In the morning. It is not lost
To the sound of the chirping insects
But distinct and brilliant
