Living Statue - Poem by Jamie Wright

Living statue

I'm waiting here for you,
Every night all day
I watch the sky turn black to blue,
Here I stand today.

They say I'm a living statue,
They say I'm not sane.
They say my dreams, they won't come true,
They say I wait in vain.

Still I stand here on my own,
High above all trees.
I'm that man made from stone,
Sworn to never leave.

Only you can save me,
Only you alone.
Only you can set me free,
Only you can take me home.
