Looking Pretty On A Sunday - Poem by Perfect Fool

Early evening the world collapsed
And the ground fell from beneath the sky
The sea blew sideways and rolled away
And the hazy sunrays crowded the shoreline
Not a soul for miles around
Footprints gently fading from the sand
Dust falling away
And pouring down the cliff
A warm summer breeze softly whipping the grass
And I'm sat
At the top of this precipice
Peace surrounding everything
And when the beach glowed orange
In an 8 o’ clock sun
And lit up my face
Through gaps in the clouds
I wish you could have seen me
Looking pretty on a Sunday.
