Love Hymn 7 - Poem by Harish Meenashru1

The moon?
No, oh no, the phase is not its tendency.

The sun?
No, oh no, absolute it is, of the moment and of the eclipse.

The earth?
No, oh no, it’s not revolving
its circumambience and sojourn move into the motionlessness
The nether land?
No, oh no, it’s deep but transparent
the darkness is not its characteristic

The sky?
No, oh no, it’s such an element as can never stand the horizon

The ocean?
No, oh no, was its body ever composed of milk or brine?

The tree?
No, oh no, un-dependent it is, desires neither the sky n terrain
nor the radiance n rain

The season?
no, oh no, it knows no limit nor any cycle
and that’s why it’s just playful

The direction? The gaze? The musical note? The cosmos? No, oh no, the lustre?
The painter’s brush?
No, oh no, but why do you strive
to untangle it
as if it’s a riddle?
