‘Love wants nothing // Love needs nothing // Love misses nothing // Love excludes nothing.., ’

Love is secondless so why a second is needed? Excellent noetic diction.

    Love is what joins
    Love is what flows
    Love is what counts
    Love is what grows
    Love is what’s known.

How did I ever miss this one David///\\\? ? ? It is beyond description wonderful. Powerful and simply put words about something we all want and need yet is often so very elusive...I came in here under the word Love on that poem list they have to read mine..: Love Is Love Is Love, that I wrote the other day and what do I first see but this.... You shine here David, like real love most surely does. Perhaps you hold the key....so lovely it makes tears slip down ones cheeks.....love, marci.xo (Report) Reply

To answer the question in the first line, I did the same thing as you, I started with one of the oldest verses in the world on Love

Here is my love poem. I also tried using the Raven's challenging rhyme pattern: http: //www.poemhunter.com/poem/love-is-105/

Even though it didn't quite fit, the result was good enough to inspire me to move on to my second (and still my best work: SUNRISE ON THE MOUNT) :
