Love Me - Poem by Denice Woods

You're so sweet that I can almost taste you..
Those sweet words you say to me
Acting like you want to be with me
When your reality is so visible
I guess you're the common denominator and you thought I was divisible
You wanted me to be miserable,
But baby I refuse
You told me you love me
And I refuse to be used
You say I'm beautiful
I know it's just a ruse
I can see straight through you
No need to accuse.
I once was bitter
But I reconsidered
I choose to be happy
With or without you
But I can't live without you
Go figure..
I need you
I eat, sleep and breathe you
We have our issues
But I will never leave you
I might show my ass
Still I will never tease you
I gave you what I gave no one else
I love you more than I love myself
You took it
I'm just waiting to receive
You say you love me more than life
And I swear Im trying to believe
You been gone for so long
On the phone you sound relieved
I love you so much it caused me pain
That only you could have perceived
Nobody will love you like I do
And I don't think you'll ever really love me..

But I still need you..
