Love Me - Poem by kimberly cross

It was a simple thing, when we were “us”, and I thought that it could last. But you told me no, and I let my head hang low, for my repeating past.

I showed my tears to you, and let you hear me cry. When you felt bad, knew I was sad, I thought I wouldn’t have to say goodbye.

But now everything is different, and now I doubt so much. It seems I cannot let any one near, for fear, of life without your touch.

I told you that I loved you, I poured with my heart. But you turned away, and now I can say, I’ve never been so torn apart.

Every memory is a pain, and each one I always miss. I want to go back, no love should I lack, and relive every kiss.

My dreams came true when God sent you to me, and I saw your angel wings. But now I am alone, cut to the bone, thinking of all these things.

I wonder if I will every have you, again so to keep. I wonder if you’ll ever need these words to heed, so that I may finally sleep.

I will go on wondering, until your heart belongs to me. I won’t cry out, nor will I shout, until you finally see.
