Loves Embers

The sunset of our life
is still brilliantly ablaze,
as the Autumn's crisp foliage glistens-
draped in sun-drenched, frosted glaze

No fading, timid emotions,
for passion still rages within-
ever longing for a sensual being
to lay beside wanting skin

Cooling embers of age
are as naïve as youthful lust,
crying hands hold back tears
of loves we felt unjust

Reluctantly we concede to time
in attempt to suffocate want-
searing pain, silently screams
knowing only loneliness and it's taunt

For the sunset of our life
is still brilliantly ablaze-
underneath winter's cold white blanket
is where love's burning desire silently lays.
