Lycanthropy - Poem by Josh Todd

Trade your mortal skin
For a pelt of smoke and ash
Your eyes shine gold
In the shadows of the night

You move like liquid steel
Paws pounding thunderously against the leaf-littered ground
Jaws clamp over a throat; instant death
Blood flows down your gullet like ambrosia

You are the beast within us all
Primal instinct, more dominant in some than others
Bay at the light-lost moon, for dawn is nigh
Return to your place in our minds to slumber
