Lying Eyes - Poem by Angel Croshier

Your soft blue eyes
Are so gentle, yet so deceiving
I want to believe everything you say
But your eyes show the truth
Or so I trusted
Those lying eyes
Shouldn’t make me weak
I wish you wouldn’t
Gaze upon me with
Those lying eyes
But they won’t look away
Unblinking blue into brown
I can’t stand the pain
The searing stabbing like ice
Deep inside my heart
But do you care?
Those lying eyes wide with desire
You gentle hands running down my arms
I want so bad to make it work
But I can’t get past
Those lying eyes
