I honestly wondered if we could be friends,
You seemed unreachable when we first met,
I guess first impressions don’t always last,
And here we are talking, I’m glad to make you laugh.

Thank you for your patience, thanks for the honesty,
Thank you for your time, thanks for always being there.
Thank you for your friendship, so precious, so loving,
Thank you for your insights, thanks a lot for sharing.

One time I was worried about mama,
I was on the verge of breaking down,
Thank you for your shoulders when I needed to cry,
After the tears I felt better, you held me like a sister.

There are times when I feel lost,
Things don’t work out the way they should
Thank you for listening when I’m overwhelmed,
For the encouragement when I feel drained.

I’m sorry for the times I failed you,
Sorry if there are requests that I forgot to do,
I know you’d understand my inadequacies,
Thanks for accepting the good, even the not so good, in me.

I sure hope and pray to God
To make you happy and keep you safe,
To give you inner joy and peace,
You’re a good person, one of the best!
