Material Girl Poem by Awo AngelaLouise Kokutse

Material Girl

One more slice won't do any harm
It went through my chest and straight to my arm
One more lick won't move the pounds high
But it went through my legs and wobbled my thighs
I'll start tomorrow that diet of mine
for it's cream and jam that today my heart pines
Tomorrow and tomorrow that diet never came
Yet the wardrbes changed and the weight never the same.
Discriminate against pies and save your thighs
Skinny girls on billboards claimed
At the body I had supposedly maimed
But I've broken the rule I'm not one of you
With my exotic lips
and size 12 hips
I'm the girl with soul
the one that is whole
Not the superficial cow
that you are now
I'm the girl that is made
The one that was saved
From your broken facade
And stupid masquerade
