Melancholic Dream - Poem by kirsty smith

Last night you eased me from my slumber
To a world of calm and grace
The problems in life had disappeared
The pain had been erased

We wondered through fields
Of flowers and trees
Our hair being stroked by a soft cool breeze

a light shone from up ahead
do not be scared is what you said
you took me gently by the hand
and walked me to this unknown land

A glance back
Took me by surprise
For what i see before my eyes
Cause this was not meant to be
As what i see was just me

Laying there back in bed
Where i had layed my head to rest
My body still without a beat
My heart had peacefully fell to sleep

A tear falling from my cheek
As i gaze at the being next to me
Who are you, I need to know

I am the angel taking you home.
