Metalwork (2 Rondelets) - Poem by Diane Hine

Fettle me up
a brassy trivet. Render tin
to fettle me up
a kettle too. Cast a cup
from puddling iron, black ‘n spiffy.
If I rust, mettle smithy
fettle me up.

Chivvy me down
the sluices of the Golden Mile.
Chivvy me down
a cache of riffled gold. A crown
will do me very well; I like
to shine but if I swell, miner
chivvy me down.
