Midnight Blues - Poem by Nhyiraba Germain

Its one of those cold chilly nights
Wake up in the middle of the night griped by fright
Can’t sleep
Thinking of you and my heart leaps
Not for joy, but for the pain u left behind

Tried to get you out of my mind
And get on my grind
Its no use
Seems like there is no truce

You were one of a kind
Beautiful, bold yet so kind
Simple yet unique
Your smiles hunt me whenever I close my eyes
And in it my true happiness lies

The clarity of your laughter in my ears
Drives me to the thin line between sanity and insanity

Amidst all this chaos
You are in my heart which will forever be yours
Your soothing voice in my heart calms me down
Aligning me with the elements of peace

As much as I try I can neither hate you nor curse the day I saw u
And even though you took away my happiness and left me with loneliness
Even though you failed your promise of love to me
Even though you took away my will to live and love again
And even though you broke my heart I still can’t help but love u more
