Mid-November

Whispering, your still words travel in seraphic symphonies
throughout the chilled November air
Drowning out the peals of heavy flurry above,
the swift-moving, snowy leaves of green beside us,
and the odious silence of locked shutters and empty stables
The niveous rooftops shimmered the moonlight back into the sky; leaving us surrounded by white in the luminous hour
Acrid black escaping chimneys, your bare, frosty fingers in between mine, and the jingle of bronze bells - inimitable to the genial facets of early June
