Moca Java - Poem by Adryan Barnathan

Coffee-
that first cup
with its grainy
bits sipped,
start the day
to awaken
the brain,
separating
the fog
from the grog,
this cup
ever so gently
invigorates,
till 'almost
out of that
dream state,
but we all know
it's the second cup,
we love the most
for the sheer
enjoyment of,
the aroma
and taste,
it's this cup
that gets us,
up, up, up,
and through
the rest
of the day

ahh~
