Morning Light - Poem by Pete Burgess
I come home to disappointment.
It was a night of broken dreams.
Deep in my soul my heart needs healing.
Are things as bad as they sometimes seem?
I wake up the morning after,
I wake up and it's alright.
All the pain, that I feel is fading.
I wake up to the morning light.
Living through what life throws at me,
I've had to learn to stand and fight.
To hold my ground, not let it stop me,
Just persevere; make it through the night.
I just know that things get better.
A silver lining, to help me cope.
I might feel bad when no one's listening,
But in the morning there's always hope
