Mother To Son - Poem by Langston Hughes

Well, son, I'll tell you:
Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
It's had tacks in it,
And splinters,
And boards torn up,
And places with no carpet on the floor—
Bare.
But all the time
I'se been a-climbin' on,
And reachin' landin's,
And turnin' corners,
And sometimes goin' in the dark
Where there ain't been no light.
So, boy, don't you turn back.
Don't you set down on the steps.
'Cause you finds it's kinder hard.
Don't you fall now—
For I'se still goin', honey,
I'se still climbin',
And life for me ain't been no crystal stair.

Very good poem. The writing in it shows much skill and talent, and the analysis to be made in it, is great and makes you think about life. (Report) Reply

The video like totally sucked. Like I don’t mean to be rude but seriously? There was no emotion. No feelings. It was like words on a page that don’t mean anything. That are there but don’t say anything. The voice sounds like they are just reading to get paid. Chose a new person to read it I say, and read it like your telling your own child, warning them about the joys and hardships of life and training them to be kind and loving towards all around them. Like if your with me! (Report) Reply

Or dislike, plus you don't have to listen to an ai recording, just read it without a recording and quit complaining
