My Angel - Poem by Nicholas Fulmer
I have searched for years on end,
For the one to take my heart to mend.
Ever wondering who the one would be,
Or if the gods even heard my plea.
I must confess that hope did fade,
Leaving me to abandon my crusade.
Then a vision caught my eye,
A light from heaven in the sky.
Surely my eyes must be wrong!
But deep inside I knew it all along.
The gods and their endless schemes,
Had been watching my dearest dreams.
With eyes of amber and hair the same,
Straight to me an angel had came.
With beauty that has never been seen,
She carried herself every inch a queen.
I lost myself in her stare,
To take a breath, I didn’t dare.
Afraid that from this dream I’d wake,
if even for a moment our gaze did break.
She reached out and touched my hand,
Making me so weak I could barely stand.
Then she leaned in and on my lips did kiss,
Causing my soul to explode in bliss.
That’s when it finally did occur,
Swirling around me in a great blur.
Tears filled my eyes when I saw it start,
The mending of the broken pieces of my heart.
Though my debt to you can never be repaid,
I promise in a thousand years my love won’t fade.
I will love you with more than the gods can bring,
Because Kristin, you are my Angel, my everything.
