My Heart Is Not For Sale! Poem by Mariana Eftimie Kabbout

My Heart Is Not For Sale!

I was the half of a silent autumn
When it rained with flowers...
Becoming the echo of the fatigued shadow
Killed by seconds and hours...

I was locked on a tiny island
Between yesterday and tomorrow...
Writting the ballad of impossile love
Grounded on the fundation of sorrow

Two invisible arms embraced me
When I couldn’t breath for a while
Then I found on my spotless face
A sign of an ancient smile

It said me that I have to go on
And to jail the belated happiness I meet
In a corner of my vulnerable heart
For nobody can find it.

Life, life, what do you want more
From an insignificant flake?
The endless and terrible fall is more bad
than a death on the bottom of a desert lake.

I prefer to be ugly, dumb, deaf or blind,
But I’ll not be a stone! I’ll fail!
Read the message I wrote with the ink of my soul:
„ You can’t buy my heart ’cause it’s not for sale! ”
