My Road To Perdition Poem by Zachary Morrow

My Road To Perdition

It seems that I, have found myself,
So lost, so sad, so afraid,
Too scared to try and start again,
Lest I repeat the mistakes I've made.

I dread the thought of waking up,
With no direction or hope inside,
I've not the courage nor the strength,
And nobody in which to confide.

If only I, could have been,
A better husband and Dad,
Now I merely take up space,
Lamenting the life I had.

I blame no one, I wish I could,
I felt no impending doom,
I simply lost my family to,
A screen name in a chat room.

I can only guess, she wanted to hear,
Dreams of a better life,
May I take this time to apologize,
To my wonderful son and wife.
