My Thought - Poem by Hugh Wren
Thought is a trusty computer in action,
My thoughts, composed of many factions;
Words, letters and numbers compete
Fighting for their place in Webster's Complete;
Then fans turn and belts whirr,
Words jump out without a burr.
Rushing forth from shining mind,
Which never ever lags behind.
Sometimes expressed as trails of blue blood
Sometimes as wondrous words-a flood,
Flowing out through speech and writ
Against no dam will it hit.
Sometimes they come with wheels jammed,
They come along doors, shut, slammed,
When I've finished the fans and belts slow down and stop
And my wonderful words back into their drives do hop.
