My World - Poem by Lynzi Berner

I am flawless
in my imperfections

I am twisted
and scared

But you can't see that
in my smile

When I laugh
you can't hear
my pain

My joy is my way
of crying
with my mask on

Don't try to
understand me
Please, please
don't try and love me

Cause if you ever do

The shadows will
open up
and allow you into
my world

And when the door
closes behind you
You'll scream
as the nightmares
come to greet you.
