Myself, I Torture Poem by Thomas Chidavaenzi

Myself, I Torture

Myself, I torture
To fall in love,
To its depths:
Unfathomed fathoms
With carefree abandon,

Again myself, I torture
To rise above love,
To climb out
Its entire height
With careful precision,

Listen, I've been there
To love's infernal nethers
And went beyond its poles
Of bottled coldness,
Yet, I survived.
