I think I better pop outside and see what's going on in my garden. Apparently there are a lot of critters out there having a hoe-down. [sorry couldn't resist]. It's a simple poem but there is room for simple poetry in a normal human being's life. Especially given the daily news on television...

To the last two lines in this poem, I’m convinced we need to stay in touch with nature. The biblical ideal is a vine and fig tree for every person. Thomas Jefferson’s, similarly, a plot of land for every person.-Glen

    When you have a garden
    You will never be alone
And I believe we all deserve
A garden of our own........so true. I agree with this. A marvelous poem has been shared startlingly.

Since it is winter, this poem makes me feel that warm feeling that the garden and the fruits of ones labour brings.
    Great job

Nice poem! 'Squirrels come to nick my nuts' reminds me of Bob Hope's joke: Did you hear about the squirrel who crawled up Liberace's leg and starved to death?
